Angiologist: what to know

An angiologist is a doctor specialising in blood and lymphatic vessels. They treat diseases of the arteries and veins, such as varicose veins, thrombosis or peripheral arterial disease, and carry out Doppler ultrasound scans to assess circulation.

When to book an appointment

• Varicose veins or heavy, swollen legs by evening
• Calf pain when walking that eases at rest
• Suspected deep vein thrombosis or its follow-up
• A circulation check-up if you have diabetes or smoke
