Complementary therapies include approaches such as naturopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, reflexology or homeopathy. They aim to support your overall well-being and can complement, but should not replace, the treatment offered by your doctor, with whom they are best discussed.

Complementary therapies are generally covered by supplementary insurance; some methods practised by doctors may be covered by compulsory basic health insurance (LAMal/KVG).
