A pediatrician is the specialist doctor for children's health, from birth to adolescence. They monitor growth and development, carry out the recommended check-ups and vaccinations, treat common childhood illnesses and give parents practical advice on their child's health.

When to book an appointment

Costs in Switzerland

Consultations are covered by the child's compulsory basic health insurance (LAMal/KVG); under alternative models, the paediatrician can act as the family doctor.
