An allergist and immunologist diagnoses and monitors allergies as well as certain disorders of the immune system. They carry out skin or blood tests, identify the substances involved, suggest suitable management such as desensitisation, and support patients living with immune conditions.

Consultations with an allergist and immunologist are covered by basic health insurance (LAMal/KVG); depending on your insurance model, a referral from your family doctor may be required.
