Medical assistant: what to know

A medical assistant works alongside the doctor in the practice. They welcome patients, manage appointments and records, and carry out certain delegated tasks such as blood tests, blood pressure checks, electrocardiograms or simple laboratory tests.

Costs in Switzerland

Tasks carried out by a medical assistant are billed by the medical practice and covered according to compulsory basic health insurance (LAMal/KVG) rules and your policy.
