A consultation often lasts around twenty minutes. A few minutes of preparation are enough to make the most of it, and to avoid leaving with the thought "I forgot to ask…".
Before the appointment
- Note down your symptoms: since when, at what time of day, what eases them or makes them worse.
- List your medicines, including over-the-counter ones and food supplements.
- Gather your documents: insurance card, test results, recent medical reports, vaccination record.
- Prepare three questions at most, in order of importance.
On the day
- Arrive a few minutes early for a first consultation.
- If the appointment is for a child, bring their health record booklet.
- For a video consultation: log in a little before the time, somewhere quiet and well lit, with a stable connection.
During the consultation
- Start with your main reason for coming.
- Say so if you don't understand a term or an instruction.
- Ask what to look out for and when to come back.
Afterwards
- Note down the instructions and follow-up dates.
- Book your check-up appointment straight away if the doctor recommends one.
- Find prescriptions, certificates and results shared by the practice in your Synamed area.
Good to know: if you can't come, cancel as soon as possible. The freed-up slot allows another patient to be seen sooner.
